In her nearly 25 years with the American Lung Association, Swan has supported the mission of the American Lung Association by substantially increasing revenue through corporate and foundation sponsorships, grants and cause marketing and increasing individual donor support through direct mail, mid/major gifts and planned giving. In her role as Chief Development Officer, Swan works with the nation's fundraising team to continue to assess and expand the development efforts throughout the country including setting strategic initiatives designed to increase revenue from all revenue streams with special emphasis on corporations, foundations and individual donor development. Swan serves on the American Lung Association’s Executive Leadership Team helping to chart the course of the organization and meet the needs of those who suffer from lung disease and those at risk.
Prior to joining the American Lung Association in 1999 Swan gained fundraising experience at the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Hollywood Bowl, Los Angeles County Natural History Museum and the University of Southern California. Swan earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and her Master of Arts degree from the University of Southern California. Sue has recently moved to North Carolina where she lives with her dog Lincoln. They have been busy exploring their new surroundings.
