Lori Poer directs the Blackbaud Institute, a research lab that works to illuminate the essential business operations of the social impact community through research grounded in Blackbaud’s philanthropic dataset – the world’s most robust – and leading sector expertise. Previously, Lori led brand and communications functions at leading nonprofits addressing international human rights and American educational inequity. She served as the lead editor of the Washington Post bestselling book The Locust Effect (Oxford University Press) and has led and contributed to significant research initiatives across the social and private sectors. She is passionate about supporting the health and effectiveness of the nonprofit community. She calls the San Francisco Bay Area home, where she can be found singing Taylor Swift songs (Taylor’s Version only, thank you) with her daughters.
