Bread for the City
Chioma Iwuoha is the Associate Director of Individual Giving at Bread for the City, a nonprofit organization that supports Washington, DC residents living with low income by providing clothing, food, legal and social services, and medical care.
Chioma’s career has always been guided by her lifelong commitment to choosing courage over comfort. As a student at Lafayette College, Chioma channeled her strength for building relationships and organizing for grassroots change as the Cultural Co-Chair of the Association of Black Collegians and as Vice President of NIA, a multi-cultural women’s support group.
After graduating with a degree in Africana Studies and Anthropology Sociology, Chioma continues uplifting voices of marginalized people as the At-Large Committeewoman for the DC Democratic Party and Co-Founder of Melanin Uprising Youth Activist Collective which creates a safe, positive healing space for Black youth. Chioma believes her life purpose is to create a world where her 11-year old daughter can live happily and freely.
